Leading the way and topping the trade at £1355 at Mitchell Livestock Auctioneers' show and sale of 944 cattle was a Limousin steer from TB Stamper, Harrot Hill, Lorton.

Champion at the pre-sale show was a Limousin heifer from W and R Lawson, Stubbsgill, Distington, that later sold for £1240, while the reserve honours were presented to Charolais steer from TB Stamper and Son, Harrot Hill, which realised £1235.

Heifers peaked at £1300 for a Limousin from Messrs Harryman, Keskadale, Keswick whilst young bulls sold to £1105 for a British Blue from the same home.
