Some 111 rams and 100 gimmers were sold at J Scott and Partners' Great from Grass on farm sale at Fearn Farm, Tain, where a satisfactory trade was achieved throughout.
The sale, conducted by Dingwall and Highland Marts, saw a top price of 1350gns paid for an Aberfield shearling ram.
Texels shearlings secured the lead average at £683.35 for 37 from top prices of 1250gns twice (+£9.30 on the year); New Zealand Suffolk shearlings (43) averaged £616.08 (-£57.72) having sold to 900gns; three Beltex peaked at 500gns to average £462.00 (+£56.70); 28 Aberfield shearlings levelled at £657.38 (-£188.66) and the 100 Aberfield cross gimmers balanced out at £130.75 having sold to £135 twice.
