The first show and sale of autumn-born calves at Lawrie and Symington's Forfar centre saw 221 head forward which saw bullocks and heifers average 191p and 187p respectively.

The champion, a 560kg Limousin cross bullock from WK and P Drysdale, Middle Drimmie, topped the sale at £1240, with a pair of 472kg Limousins from Donald R Hood, Middlehill, producing the lead price per kg at 227p.

Limousins also led the way amongst the heifers which peaked at £1080 from TM and R Wilson, Wairds of Alpity and 214p from Witton Farm.
