Three leading Scottish bloggers, who have combined following of nearly 146,000 on Instagram, travelled to The Chester Hotel in Aberdeen recently to take part in a cookery demonstration which showcased Specially Selected Pork as a low fat, nutritious and versatile meat.

Joining forces with QMS for its ‘Go Places With Pork’ campaign, Rebecca Meldrum of popular Aberdeen lifestyle blog Mrs Meldrum, Claire Jessiman who runs foodie blog Foodie Quine and Gemma Hunter, the face behind The Lifestyle Hunter YouTube channel, learnt about the traceability and quality assurance which underpins the Specially Selected Pork brand whilst taking part in a cook-along of new Specially Selected Pork recipes.

Run by The Chester Hotel’s head chef Kevin Dalgleish, who reached the quarter final of ‘Masterchef: The Professionals’ in 2016, the cookery demonstration taught the influencers how to whip up tasty pork dishes from around the world including Sichuan-Style Pork Teriyaki and Pork Souvlaki.

Carol McLaren, director of marketing and communications with Quality Meat Scotland said: “It’s fantastic to have the support of some great local influencers with the campaign. We hope that by showing them how quick and easy it is to incorporate Specially Selected Pork into delicious, healthy meals they will be able to meet their own healthy eating goals while inspiring people across Scotland to do the same.”

As well as being low in fat, the vitamins found in pork, including essential B-vitamins, are vital for maintaining energy levels, controlling moods and keeping the nervous system healthy.

The activity supports a wider push on Specially Selected Pork, with the campaign set to reach over 4.2m consumers in Scotland over its six-week run.
