A new Northern Ireland record price for a Dutch Spotted ewe and lamb was achieved at the Springtime Sparklers sale when the first lot in the ring made 9000gns.

The outfit from Emma Allen, of the Diamond flock, Strabane, Co Tyrone, comprised the ewe, Glencoy Cherry, and her February-born ewe lamb, Diamond Felicity, which sold to Tommy Jackson, Saintfield.

The same home also produced a gimmer at 6100gns when selling to Henry Jewitt, Co Durham. She is a daughter of the flock's new stock ram, Carlaustan Extrovert.

Charollais females reached heights of 1900gns for a ewe lamb from Graham Foster of the Springhill flock selling to an undisclosed buyer. She is by Boyo Walk This Way and out of Wernfawr Tina Turner which was purchased for 3800gns.

Topping the Badgerface Texel section at 1500gns was a gimmer form Janet and Andy Carson of the Little Whisker flock. She is a daughter of Beili Arnold, bred of an imported female line and sold to Nigel Flanagan, Keady.
