A pen of ewe lambs from Richard Hutchinson, Kirkby Redgate, secured the championship and sold for the price of £700 at Bentham Auction Mart's sale of North of England Mule,
The pre-sale show, judged by Rosie Boden and Thomas Hird, saw 23 pens forward, with the supreme pen attracting the lead bid from regular customer, John Gate.
The second prize pen from Gavin White, made £440, with the third placed entries from J Garth and Son, Birk Knott, making £400, per head.
Overall, NEMSA ewe lambs levelled at £119.27 with non-members lambs averaging £98.69.
