Scottish breeders made their presence felt at Bentham Auction Mart's Ram-Page sale, producing several of the lead priced lots including a new cross-bred centre record of £5000.
Selling at this price and surpassing their previous high here was a Texel cross ram from the Ingram family, Logie Durno, Inverurie, purchased by Harry Wood, Popes Farm.
Other Logie Durno cross-bred rams sold at £2500 and £2300 twice, with the Ingrams also selling Suffolk shearlings at £1300 on two occasions.
Pure Texels sold to £2300 for a shearling ram from Stuart Robson, Buckholm, Galshiels, which headed home with Jon Frankland, Rathmell.

And, Melrose-based Beltex breeder, RS Green, The Craggs, Lilliesleaf, topped the Beltex at £1250 with a shearling ram – a price that was later equalled by a ram from Dan Towers, Wray.
Cross-bred shearlings produced the lead average at £855.59, up £146 on the year, with Charollais shearlings at £521 (+£20); Suffolks cashed in at £772 (+£92) and Texels levelled at £725 (+£155).
Amongst the ram lambs, Suffolks averaged £510 (+£72) and Charollais levelled at £336 (+£19). The sale achieved an 88% clearance.
