Centre records were smashed at Dingwall and Highland Marts' Tuptastic sale of 375 rams at Dingwall, where a Texel shearling from D Paterson, Veltigar, Orkney, sold for £4000 to Robert and Hazel McNee, Over Finlarg, Tealing.
Judge Michael Robertson, Fodderletter, Tomintoul, found his champion in a Texel shearling ram from J Peterkin, Barnyards, who dispersed his flock last year. It went on to sell for £1700 to Messrs Clark, Kinnahaird.
The reserve, a traditional Bluefaced Leicester shearling from Messrs Fotheringham, Craighall, Perth, made £2000 selling to Messrs Bradley, Tillyminate, Gartly for Cheviot Mule ewe lamb production.
