Jock Currie’s Carlinside flock dispersal, attracted the lead price of 3800gns at the Scottish Texel Sheep Breeders’ Club sale at Lanark.
The flock from outside Lanark, was led by a one-crop ewe by Mossknowe Entity, and bred from a home-bred ewe by Farmhill Alexis. She sold jointly to Archie and John MacGregor, Allanfauld, Kilsyth, and Andrew Clark, of the Teiglum flock, Blackhill, Carluke
A similarly aged ewe by Charben Elite and out of another Alexis daughter, made 2000gns selling to Alan Clark, Garngour flock, North Garngour, Lesmahagow.

Overall the Carlinside dispersal achieved an average of £964.25 for 30 females.
Pre-sale show judge Alan Clark, Garngour, awarded the championship to a ram lamb from Robert Cockburn’s Knap flock from Perth, which went on to secure the top male price of 3200gns.
Knap Hot Fuzz is from the first crop of sons by last year’s 65,000gns purchase, Teiglum Goliath, and out of a Sportsmans Cannon Ball daughter. He was purchased by AE Williams and Son Folly Bank, Craven Arms.
Two ram lambs achieved 2000gns. First was Ettrick Horizon from Gordon and David Gray, Sunnycroft, Selkirk. A son of the 45,000gns Ettrick Grey Goose, he is out of a New View Electrifying daughter and travels down to Wales with J and L Phillips, Gwern Gwalia, Gwynedd.
On the same price tag was Clarks Helter Skelter from Dye Clark, Lee Meadow, Carluke. This March-born lamb is sired by Haymount Greatest Showman and out of a Procters Eye Catcher bred ewe. Final bidders were T and CM Kelsall, Brown Brook, Chipping, Preston.
The Rusha dispersal from George, Mary and Nicola Gibb, recorded a top price of 1000gns on two occasions.
This was paid for gimmers sired by Scrogtonhead Cokesdozie, one of which sold to Peter and Lynn Gray of the Scrogtonhead flock Cowgrove, Galston, and the other to Neil Laing, Perryflatts, Thankerton, Biggar.
