SOLICITORS Wright, Johnston and Mackenzie are holding their annual Renewable Energy Seminar in Edinburgh next week.

On Thursday November 8, in the new setting the city's Principal hotel, the afternoon seminar will explore consenting and development routes to maximising returns from onshore wind, with input from land investment experts JLL.

Chaired by WJM's head of renewables, Andy McFarlane, sessions include a look at the current legal issues for onshore wind by WJM's head of planning, Fraser Gillies; a planning review of the last year by JLL director David Bell; and the strategic use of private wire and ICP connections to reduce capital costs and manage project risks, by WJM associate Esme Macfarlane.

There will also be a panel session featuring those speakers together with JLL's head of energy Dane Wilkins, Xero Energy's managing director Nigel Scott, and greenfield propjects manager, Gary Connolly, focussing on planning and legal issues and market trends impacting on maximising value from new and existing projects.
