SWEDISH FORESTRY athlete Ferry Svan has swept all before him to win the 2020 STIHL Timbersports Four Nations Cup in Munich.

Bringing together the best axe and chainsaw wielders from France, Sweden, Austria and Switzerland, many of the competitors were fighting for a ticket to STIHL's Individual World Championship qualification event coming up in November.

Due to the global pandemic, the competition was delivered through a new live broadcast concept, with a commentary team providing fans with an entertaining viewing experience from the comfort of their own home.

From the off, decorated veterans of the sport, Austria’s Armin Kugler and Switzerland’s Christophe Geissler laid down strong markers in the Underhand Chop discipline, but nestled among the pair at the top of the standings after round one, it was Sweden’s Svan that lit up the competition, taking maximum points on the Stock Saw, then executing a winning, personal best performance in the Springboard discipline, before holding his nerve to achieve yet another personal best in the Hot Saw, and at that securing top three finishes across all six disciplines.
