HAWICK jockey Jason Hart rode Look My Way to a game 12-1 win in the Chester Plate handicap.

He got the gelding up by a neck to claim the £31,000 prize pot on May 11, after setting sail for home before the final turn.

The four-year-old responded by staying on gamely to hold the fast-finishing Coeur De Lion in a close-fought battle to the line.

Sean Quinn, son and assistant of successful trainer John, praised the winning jockey.

“Jason rode him to his strengths,” he explained.

“He’s a very tough horse and it look like he came off the bridle six furlongs out.

“The longer we’ve had him, the more we’ve got to know him.

“He’s already done very well for us, and he isn’t exposed over hurdles, so we’ll go back down that route at some point.

“He’s been on the go a while so I imagine we’ll give him a break now,” he added.

Hart was quickly back in the winner’s enclosure the following afternoon when he continued in form at Thirsk.

He rode Maid in India to win the five-furlong fillies stakes.

Hart was also victorious at the same track three days earlier when he rode Acclaim the Nation to a half-length victory in the five-furlong handicap on May 8.

Ayrshire jockey David Allan rode Angels to land the concluding six-furlong maiden stakes at Ripon on May 11, and was back in the winner’s enclosure at Nottingham the following afternoon when riding Tristram to a 6-1 win in the 1m 6 f handicap.

Selkirk trainer Stuart Coltherd and jockey son Sam combined forces to land the conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle race at Hexham on May 12, when Sporting Milan made all to post a 10-1 win.

Katy Royal – bred at Hawick by Bruce Mactaggart – headed the three-mile maiden hurdle race.

Northumberland jockey Harry Reed rode 50-1 shot Andapa to win the concluding bumper at Pumpton on May 13.

Four days earlier at Kelso, on May 9, Northumberland trainer Ann Hamilton won the feature handicap chase with 3-1 chance Oak Vintage.

Danny Tudhope continued in unstoppable form when riding another double at Thirsk on May 8.

He partnered Fastman to a 7-1 win in the five-furlong novice stakes before adding the feature handicap aboard Blazing Saddles.

The Irvine jockey was back in the winner’s enclosure at Ascot on May 12, when he rode Urban Fox to win the fillies’ handicap.
