The Galloway Branch of the Pony Club held their dismounted winter camp recently, where 16 young members went along to Auchenmalg for a theory-based experience with instructors, Ruth McGarry and Joss Drummond.
They studied horse care, nutrition, tack, points of the horse, and many other topics. There was lots of non horsey fun to be had too, with a sleepover and the following morning some more lessons to round off a terrific weekend.
In order to raise funds there is a Curry and Quiz Night planned in The Creebridge Hotel on March 29, which is open to all. This will be a general knowledge quiz so everyone is very welcome.
