SCOTTISH event rider Emily Galbraith finished in 24th place at the Pau CCI4* with Timing.
Initially lying in 71st place after dressage, their clear cross country round propelled them up to 30th place after cross country.
An unfortunate one pole down in the final showjumping phase moved them up to a final 24th place, finishing on a score of 74 penalties.
Fellow Scot, Wills Oakden with McFly, owned by the Malcolm family, was making his four-star debut at the event in the south of France. They were going well across country until McFly pulled off his shoe and part of his hoof, meaning that Wills was forced to pull up and withdraw.
The event was won by William Fox-Pitt with Seacookie TSF on 45.5 pens, with William also third with Cool Mountain.
