The 26th Aberdeen Highland Pony Show was held at the newly restored Duthie Park, Aberdeen.

Around 100 ponies from all over Scotland were presented for judging by Pat Stirling in-hand and Katherine Bowling under saddle.

Pat found her champion in John Reids Glenbanchor Gilliebrighd, a three-year-old colt bred by Sally Lesley-Melvile. Reserve was Messrs GM Baird with a home-bred yearling filly, Ulrika of Whitefield, by Oliver of Forglen and out of Queencake of Whitefield.

Ridden champion was the seven-year-old stallion Coulnacraig Jacobite from Robin and Karen Stewart and ridden by Mark Smith. Jacobite has had a successful year being in-hand champion at the Highland Pony Breed Show and ridden champion at NESHPES Spring Show, Tarland Show and North East Riding Club.

Reserve was Sandy Kydd with Burnside Vorlich, prevoiusly Champion at Perth Show.

The final NESHPES best member championship was judged by Charlie McQuattie. Champion was Pamela May of Forglen from Gordon and Anne Towns, qualifying at Keith Show. Reserve was Robin and Karen Stewart's West Lodge Alby, a seven-year-old mare by Echo of Auchnacarry and out of West Lodge Amy.

The guest of honour to mark the first show in the restored Park was Lord Provost of Aberdeen, George Adam who kindly presented the trophies at the conclusion of the show.
