Industrial sections at any agricultural event are always popular and while flower shows may be coming a thing of the past, they are well supported in the north, with the flower committee of Caithness Agricultural Society, recently having celebrated 50 years.

To mark the anniversary, the committee whose members are mainly farmers wives and daughters created some impressive floral displays using agricultural equipment and implements of bygone era. The event also recorded one of its highest ever entries, with just shy of 300 exhibits forward for the big day and an even greater number of spectators eager to catch a glimpse of the floral displays.
