Kinkell Byre, in St Andrews, is not just a normal wedding venue; Kinkell Byre offers you exclusive hire of a converted barn which is full of character and rustic charm with plenty of room inside and out.

Kinkell Byre is situated at Kinkell Farm, near St Andrews. Not only do you have the stunning views of the Fife countryside but you also have breathtaking views of the North Sea and the east coast of Scotland.

The personal touches

Weddings at Kinkell Byre aim to give you the chance to create your own event with as much freedom as possible; the venue is literally a blank canvas. We will give you as much or as little help and advice as you want. This allows you to really put your personal touch on it so that your wedding is truly unique.

How it works

You rent the exclusive use of the space for the day of your wedding and you and your suppliers have access on the day before to set up and decorate (except for Sundays after a Saturday wedding).

As a guide Kinkell would expect music and bar service to finish by 1am the following morning and all guests to have left by 2am at the latest.

Also included in the hire is hessian draping, whisky barrels, candlesticks with candles, coat rail with hangers, the heating of the whole venue and the venue PA system for speeches and background music.

There are separate areas that can be used for the ceremony (and outside space if the Scottish weather allows ), a separate area for the drinks reception, a separate area for the meal and dancing and a south facing garden. This allows your day to flow nicely through the building with little or no moving of furniture.

And an added extra: Kinkell Byres do not charge corkage, and you are free to use which ever caterers you wish.
