The sound of the chainsaws roaring and a power of cheering usually indicates that the forestry arena is in full swing.
There’s plenty scheduled to keep the crowds happy with forestry demos, chainsaw carving, lumberjack displays, horse logging, even mountain bike displays, and, of course, the crowd’s favourite, the pole climbing competition which is being held at 10.30am, 2pm and 4pm on Saturday; and at 10.30am, 2pm, with the final being held at 4pm on Sunday.
Cheer on your favourite as climbers with side spikes run up the 80ft pole to ring the bell at the top for the win.
What to look out for in the forestry area:
Small Scale Forestry Demo
Chainsaw carving
Lumberjack Display
Horse Logging
Machine vs Chainsaw
Mountain Bike
Utility Pole Climbing Competition
