Make the effort to get into Scotland’s Larder Live! Early. You don’t want to be squeezing through the crowds during the busy periods… that’s when you miss out on the free samples. Cheese cubes in one hand, a thimble of whisky in the other, a carrier of bag of sausages swinging from your arm is the only way to browse the food stalls.

This year the various regions of Scotland are well represented with 12 food and drink producers form Aberdeenshire in the Highlands coming along. There are six from the Strathclyde region; and 18 producers from Tayside and Fife showing their wares.

As the Borders is part of the President’s Initiative there will be a fantastic array of food from the Borders on display too. Further north is well represented with a team of 10 from Orkney exhibiting too.

Scotland’s Larder Live is all about bringing together the top Scottish food and drink producers to celebrate provenance, regionality and seasonality, featuring hundreds of artisanal exhibitors showcasing Scottish produce at its best.

Live demonstrations, tastings, talks and more from a superb line up of Scottish chefs also make up the unmissable programme of events on offer.

Look out for demonstrations from:

Chefs who hail from Tayside and Fife include Wendy Barrie, founder and director of the award-winning Scottish Food Guide, and Tom Lewis, owner of Monachyle Mhor. Chefs who hail from Strathclyde include Andy Christie, head chef at Glendoch House. And, chefs who hail from Aberdeenshire and the Highlands include Calum Montgomery, owner and head chef of Edinbane Lodge.
