Owner's name:

Mungo Guthrie

Tractor make:

Ford County 1124, with 5216.9 hours.

How long have you owned it?

The tractor was purchased in June, 2014.

Where did you get it?

It was purchased from a dealer in Market Drayton over the phone, it was one of three tractors traded in against a new tractor.

Is it restored?

This tractor is in its working clothes and is totally original, apart from a more powerful turbocharged engine which is rated at 150 horsepower. Its originality was what took my interest as it had never worked in the forestry industry as many of these equal wheeled tractors do.

What was the biggest challenge you had with your tractor?

This question makes me smile as I am a Massey Ferguson supporter, so I joked with the haulage contractor that it had to be delivered under the cover of darkness as it was blue. Just by chance it came off the lorry at 2am one morning (in total darkness).

What is unique or special about your machine?

The fact that it is original and complete makes it an easy option to have to work or show and I didn’t have to spend time looking for spare parts, which is timely and expensive.

Rallies/road runs throughout the year?

I have only been on one road run and one rally.

Would you ever sell it?

Not at the moment as I look forward to it being part of my collection to have when I’m older – it would be nice to think that it will increase in value as it gets older.

However, it will be sold at some point as I have three daughters who may cash it in.

Dream tractor?

I have one or two Masseys and would like to own a MF 1100 or MF 1150 – with the latter being a V8.
