Lockdown blues have been turned into a book of tasty treats by Borders farmer's wife, Anne Redpath – with the proceeds going to charity.
She told The SF: "When panic buying started in March, I wrote a facebook recipe blog through lockdown which I've now made into a recipe/memory book with stories, memories and facts about lockdown and also 303 traditional store cupboard recipes.
"It's selling for £10 (plus £2 p and p) with proceeds going to our local hospital in The Borders and RHET," she added. E-mail address for further details: lockdownrecipebook@gmail.com
I've had some really lovely reactions to it, with folk coming back to order more for gifts, one lady got very emotional reading it and one thinks it's a historical document! So far, I've sold more than 700 and just ordered another batch this week – hopefully I'll manage to sell 1000 and make lots of money for the charities."
And so say all of us!
Here's one of Anne's quick and easy recipes:
Breakfast Puffs
Cheap and easy to make. Put some self raising flour in a bowl, salt, pepper and add water to mix to a soft dough.
Fry in a well oiled frying pan, preferably beside yummy bacon as it’ll soak up all that gorgeous bacon fat, turn over to finish. Also delish with a fried egg.
Not healthy but hey ho…
