More than 100 entries were forward for the three sections of the East of Scotland Grassland Society (ESGS) forage competition, which in line with last year was again based on analyses only with farm judging ruled out by the continued pandemic
As usual, several familiar names figured in the top scoring entries, with the overall winner being the winner of the big bale section, Dave Gilchrist, Ingraston, West Linton.
The 50th anniversary of ESGS fell in 2020, but sadly the planned celebrations, which included a farm tour to the Stranraer area, as well as the regular programme of visits, had to be postponed. It is however hoped the ESGS will be able to mark the anniversary this year with a series of events for members.
