THERE seems to be renewed enthusiasm from Turkish manufacturer, ArmaTrac, to sell its tractors via its new Stoke-on-Trent-based UK importer, ArmaTrac Sales UK.

It has been more specific with UK-spec' tractors, with upgraded models which is limited at the moment to just two models - the 504e with 50hp and the 1104Lux with 113hp.

The smaller of those uses a Tier 3A Perkins turbocharged engine with three cylinders and a 3.3-litre capacity. It has a simple Italian-made Carraro transmission which has 12 forward and 12 reverse gears, with a shuttle, and top speed of 30kph.

A mechanical linkage is standard and the independent pto has 540 or 540E options. It can lift 2.2 tonnes and hydraulic power comes from a 48.5 litres/minute pump.

It comes with a handy price tag of around £16,000.

Its bigger stablemate, the 1104 Lux, has a 3.4-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged Perkins rated at 113hp. Again, the transmission is simple, with 16 forward and 16 reverse gears, all with full synchromesh.

This has an auto-hitch control system, plus compressor and trailer brake hook-up. A fender-mounted external hydraulic lift and pto buttons are fitted and, in the cab, air-conditioning is standard, as is a radio-CD player.

This one will cost about £28,000 and distribution is direct from the company's UK base in Stoke.
