SCOTLAND'S motoring writers have donated £1500 to the Scottish Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA).

A cheque for £1500 was presented by the association of Scottish Motoring Writers' president, Alisdair Suttie, to the SCAA's Fiona Dennis, Community Fundraiser for the only air ambulance in Scotland supported by public donations.

The money was raised by the ASMW at its annual Scottish Car of the Year (SCOTY) event.

Fiona Dennis said: "This is a fantastic amount and helps keep the SCAA helicopter and its on-board paramedics in the air to support those in need across the whole of Scotland. We are very grateful to the ASMW and all those who supported the SCOTY event to raise the money."

Mr Suttie added: 'The SCAA team carry out an incredible job, often in the most terrible and demanding of circumstances. They also operate rapid response vehicles to further support the NHS, so it is the perfect charity for the ASMW to give this money to.'

The SCAA operates out of Perth Airport and covers the whole of Scotland. It provides vital paramedic assistance every day of the year and has helped saves hundreds of lives. The SCAA works in complete co0operation with the NHS and other emergency services and has been providing care for patients since May 2013.
