A CHARITY tractor run is set to take place in Ayrshire this weekend, on Saturday, December 30.

Organised by CR Contracts, the event is being held in order to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, and a special tractor, a New Holland T7.315, has been donated for the run by Agricar's Dundonald branch manager, Gordon Smith, to be driven on the day by one lucky bidder.

At present, the highest bid placed to drive the demonstrator sits at £280 from Euan Watt, but further bids are still welcome.

Other prizes are also on offers, which can be won via raffle ticket purchases, including a trip to the New Holland factory in Basildon, with flights included, also donated by Mr Smith.

The run is set to kick-off at 10:30am, with tractors leaving Caponacre, Cumnock, at 11am, to drive to Darvel and back. Each tractor entered will cost £40.

For those taking part, there’s no need to worry about bringing the usual 'piece box', as a refreshment van will be available to everyone from 9am onwards.
