TILLAGE Live is set to make its return to Scotland next month, as the 2018 event is to be held in Dunbar, East Lothian, by kind permission of the Taylor family, at Eweford Farm.

The event – which will be held on Wednesday, September 26 – will include working demonstrations, machinery displays, and other technical exhibits.

Zander Taylor, who works at home at Eweford with his father, William, explained how the family, who run between 900 and 1000 acres, were looking forward to hosting the event.

"As far as our year's going, we've obviously experienced the hot, dry weather that the rest of the country had and that led us to thinking our crops might end up weaker.

"However, the first wheat has been alright – some of it at between four and five tonnes per acre – so that's promising. We used to chop everything, but being short on straw in this area, we decided to bale everything this year, which was fine until the rain held things up a bit!"

Event organiser, Kayleigh Holden, explained: "The AEA are extremely pleased to be back in Scotland, which we last visited in 2012. The site in Dunbar offers excellent facilities for manufacturers to showcase their machinery to potential customers and visitors alike and we would like to thank Eweford farm for hosting the 2018 event."
