NEWCASTLE-BASED Hanover Dairies has raised £45,976 for the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity, as part of the company’s recent 300-mile plus Charity Cycle Challenge from Kielder Water, Northumberland, to the Trust’s headquarters at Leatherhead, Surrey.

Trevor Hanover, owner and founder of Hanover Dairies, handed over the ceremonial cheque at Newcastle Quayside to the Rainbow Trusts’ northern national manager, Hannah Petheram alongside management staff from its Sunderland-based office. The Rainbow Trust is an organisation that supports terminally-ill children and their families.

Commenting at the cheque presentation Mr Hanover said: “We are delighted to have raised over £45,000 from the cycle challenge and would like to thank all our customers; delivery rounds-people, suppliers, farm-shops and outlets that have helped raise this incredible sum for the Rainbow Trust. The response has been overwhelming having far exceeded our original target of £30,000.”

Rainbow Trusts’ Hannah Petheram was delighted to accept the ceremonial cheque. She said: “The Trust is extremely grateful to Trevor Hanover and the cycling team for raising this incredible sum of money. We would like to thank everyone that contributed to this charity fund-raiser and appreciate the generosity extended to the Trust by Hanover Dairies’ customers.”

The cycling team consisted of Trevor Hanover; Michael Hanover and Paul Doran with Eldon Robson and Ruaridh Aitken from Fentamins.
