FARMERS are reminded that applications to the Scottish Upland Sheep Support Scheme will close on November 30.
The SUSSS provides additional support, on top of the Basic Payment Scheme, to sheep producers who farm in Scotland's rough grazing areas.
Due to the poor weather last year, the 2017 scheme application period was temporarily extended from its previous October 16 deadline – and after requests from the industry, the Scottish Government has since made that extension permanent, alongside an amended retention period, which now runs from December 1 to March 31, having previously been October 17 to March 31.
