DAIRY PRODUCERS will have the opportunity to discuss the future of the dairy industry at a Q and A organised by the Scottish Dairy Hub at this year’s AgriScot on November 21.

Event chair, RHASS chief executive Alan Laidlaw, will be joined by AHDB chief strategy officer Tom Hind, RBS director of agriculture Roddy McLean, commentator Ian Potter and dairy farmer Rory Christie.

Stuart Martin, who manages the Scottish Dairy Hub, said he expects just as lively a session as they had at last year’s successful event.

“There are a number of issues facing the dairy industry in Scotland in both the short and long term and we welcome all to attend to participate in the discussion around these issues.

“The panel is from a wide and varied background and their knowledge and insight will be a must hear for all in the dairy supply chain.”

Mr Hind said: “In times of such great uncertainty around outcome of Brexit, greater market volatility and changing consumer behaviour, it’s really important that events like these help shed some light on the dynamics and give farmers better perspective in which to make good decisions for the future.”

As well as putting questions to the panel on the day, people can also post their questions in advance on Twitter, using the hashtag #DairyHubQT or by emailing the hub directly at info@scottishdairyhub.org.uk.

The question time event will run in Seminar Room 1 at AgriScot from 1pm – 2 pm and is free to attend.
