ITS THAT time of year again, where people are gearing up to choose their Christmas turkey – and one farm which is looking to see a rise in sales of their KellyBronze turkeys is South Powrie in Angus.

Run by husband and wife team Thomas and Susannah Pate, the business has recently invested in its online shopping capability, making it easier for its customers to order their Christmas dinner this year.

Teaming up with local suppliers, the business will be offering a wide range of festive dinner accompaniments including home-reared pork trimmings from Puddledub in Fife, a selection of premium cheeses from The Cheesery in Dundee, fresh farm vegetables from Pittormie Farm and locally-made Christmas cakes and puddings by Silla Keyser in Kirriemuir

Thomas Pate explained: "Last year the farm successfully sold 600 turkeys in the run up to Christmas. Collaborating with other regional food and drink businesses to offer a complete Christmas dinner package has been successful, attracting new customers and driving revenue,” he continued. “Working with other businesses like this allows us to offer value beyond the transaction and we have a loyal customer base who appreciate the one-stop shop of premium local produce we offer and we’re excited to be working with five other producers this year."
