WHEN DAVE and Janette Waldie, of Newmills Farm, Lauder, decided to hold an on-farm sale of their agricultural contracting business, they also resolved to raise funds for their long term family friend Doddie Weir and his Motor Neuron Disease charity, the 'My Name‘5 Doddie Foundation', via sales of an auction catalogue, with regular customers placing adverts inside. Donations were also made to the Trust and as interest grew, so did the sale, as near neighbour the Andersons, from Boon Farm, Lauder, decided to add their sale to the day, which also contributed massively to the total. Dave and Janette are pictured handing over a cheque for £6,591.18 to Doddie himself.
