POLICE Scotland have confirmed that an 82-year-old woman pedestrian has been killed in collision with a tractor in the south of Scotland.
The woman has since been identified as Mary Jeffrey.
The 'one vehicle' road traffic incident happened on the U230N, the main road through the village of Terregles in Dumfries and Galloway.
A Police Scotland statement confirmed officers had been called out to the collision at about 1.40pm on Saturday, April 6. 
The road from the village to the Old Glen was closed for about six hours while investigation work was carried out. The incident involved a John Deere tractor.
Police Scotland would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this collision or may have driven along the road a short time before the collision and may have seen the tractor or persons walking on the roadway. Anyone who can assist should contact Police Scotland on the 101 number quoting incident 1991 of 06/04/2019.
In a statement, Ms Jeffrey's family said: "We are shocked and devastated and would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and support at this difficult time."
