SWITCHING TRACTORS for bikes, 12 members of the Scottish Association of Young Farmers Clubs east region are about to embark on a 160-mile cycle through their five districts over two days, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Members will depart this Friday (July 7) from Kelso with a view to arrive at the East Area Rally on Sunday (July 9) at Balfay Farm, Inchture.
East region chair Ewan Smith commented ahead of the cycle: “The team has taken on this challenge to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. At a national level SAYFC has been raising awareness of cancer in the agricultural community and its effects on our membership. We feel that they are a fantastic charity to get behind because they are the ones on the front line providing help and support for patients and their families."
If you would like to support the challenge there is a link to the justgiving page on SAYFC’s website. We will find out how the team got on in next week’s paper.
