THE thighs are primed, the brains are working... so it’s all going well for RSABI’s BIG DAY OUT, the Great Glen Challenge.

Next week, the teams taking part will be poised to get underway in various states of unpreparedness and so, this week, we highlight the rest of the teams (week three) taking part to raise monies for this all-important agricultural charity.

As part of our support for this worthwhile charity, we are asking readers to choose teams to support and raise some meaningful monies for this deserving charity. Here’s the final tranche before the big day:

Bank of Scotland

Team members: Mountain biking, David Murray, relationship manager, Dumfries; kayaking, Bill Murphy, relationship manager, Aberdeen; running, Phil Reid, relationship director, Aberdeen; walking, Sandy Hay, RBS area director, Scotland; support driver, Paul Healy, relationship director, Edinburgh; plus volunteer marshals, Julie McLaren, Barry Watson, and Neil Boyle.

The reasons for taking part:

“The Bank of Scotland’s ag team has participated in the Great Glen Challenge for eight years, raising more than £26,000 thanks to generous donations from clients, colleagues, friends and family. As a lender that’s by the sides of Scotland’s rural businesses, we recognise the important work RSABI does in supporting those most in need across Scotland’s farming communities, and how that helps make a real difference to people’s lives.”

Quote/fact:

“The various events are pretty challenging for us amateurs, but it’s very much about taking part, building awareness of the work RSABI does, raising funds and not coming last!” – Phil Reid, relationship director, Bank of Scotland Agriculture.
