Robert Logan is joining farm co-operation organisation SAOS as a project manager this month, moving from SAC Consulting where he has worked for more than 14 years.

Most recently, Mr Logan was a senior consultant in its beef and sheep team, delivering consultancy advice to farmers and various other stakeholders, including several SAOS member co-ops.

Mr Logan commented: “I can’t wait to get started and build on the great work already being carried out by SAOS. The team ethos is really impressive, founded in a co-operative and collaborative approach to tackling industry challenges. With the concerns surrounding the whole sector just now, I’ll be looking to help add value by supporting the agricultural co-operatives and industry groups in continuation of SAOS’s core aims.”

SAOS chief executive Tim Bailey commented: “Robert has a deep understanding of Scottish agricultural systems and, in particular, adds strength and depth to our knowledge of the beef and lamb sector. He has many years’ experience of project management and knowledge exchange across the supply chain from his various roles in SAC Consulting. This experience will be hugely beneficial as we continue to develop solutions for our member co-ops and the wider farm and food sector, to address the business, technological and climate change challenges and opportunities ahead.”

As with SAOS’s other project managers, Robert will be home-based, strengthening the team in the south of Scotland.
