POLICE are investigating the cause of a major barn blaze on an Auchterarder farm – and have confirmed they are treating the incident as 'suspicious'.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to a farm in Blackford, Auchterarder, shortly before 8pm on Sunday September 15 following reports of a barn on fire.

"The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended and local road closures were put in place while firefighters extinguished the blaze. There were no injuries.

"Inquiries are ongoing into the cause of the fire, which is being treated as suspicious. Officers are following positive lines of enquiry."

On receiving the emergency call, SFRS mobilised six appliances and a number of specialist resources to attend the blaze at Mains of Panholes farm, and such was the severity of the fire, two of those crews remained on site well into Monday.
