ESTHER, one of Kirsty Stewart’s Valais Blacknose ewes, is a natural poser, and could very well be in the ring during the 2020 show season. Kirsty invested in three Valais Blacknose ewe lambs in December 2017, and earlier this year purchased a tup to match. Having just gone through an embryo transfer programme with AB Europe, this fledgling flock should see its first lambs early April 2020. Despite working as a jeweller with her own business, Kirsty grew up on a farm and has lambed sheep since she could walk – so was was delighted when she finally got an opportunity to purchase her own sheep. It’s a family affair though, as she get lots of help and support from her farmer husband and parents
