ANIMAL WELFARE pioneer Temple Grandin will be leading a discussion on improving stockmanship and welfare at this year’s British Veterinary Conference at this week's London Vet Show.

Dr Grandin will lead this prestigious session by sharing her unique insight into the handling of farm animals, covering visual distractions and handling facilities and point of balance principles to reduce stress.

The professor of animal science at Colorado State University will deliver the Wooldridge memorial lecture on the first day of the conference on Thursday, November 14.

Other highlights will include sessions on how the vet profession can look to embrace becoming greener in their practices and why inclusion and diversity in the workplace is important.

There is also the BVA Farm Animal stream which covers everything from Day One Competences to the essentials that all general practitioners need to know.
