FARMER and TV presenter Adam Henson is urging whichever political party that wins this week's General Election to 'empower the consumer' to know exactly where the ingredients in their food come from.

Mr Henson has spoken out in support of the 'Happerly' movement, which was started by Gloucestershire farmer Matthew Rymer to turn the food industry's supply chains transparent, so that consumers can know exactly where the ingredients in their food are from, and make sensible judgements on sustainability, environmental impact or animal welfare.

"I challenge the biggest brands and businesses in every food sector to lead by example – open up your ingredient supply chain for all to see," said Mr Henson. "Consumer trust is earned through truth.”
