Scottish Partnership Against Rural Crime, Inspector Alan Dron
For 2020, SPARC will continue providing a co-ordinated, focused and proactive approach through effective partnerships coupled with increased visibility to reduce opportunities for those crimes that cause greatest threat, risk and harm to Scotland's rural communities and environment.
Building on the tangible progress made throughout 2019, regardless of geographical location, SPARC will again strive to ensure we listen, are visible plus understand local and national concerns relating to rural crime. This is why we are committed to establish new plus strengthen existing local partnership against rural crime groups throughout Scotland, which can seek to tackle and prevent local issues by involving local partners to provide local solutions in line with the national vision, aim, four objectives and seven operational priorities.
As always, prevention is better than detection so in order to reduce vulnerabilities SPARC seeks to change perception, educate and raise the profile of rural crime plus enhance public engagement to convey confidence that any crime-related issues affecting those living, working or enjoying our rural communities and environment are taken seriously, acted upon and ultimately root out crime.
As far as resolutions go – simple – try to target and tackle as many individuals committing rural crime caught and convicted!
