LANARKSHIRE Ice Rink recently hosted the Farmers Curling Trophy sponsored by CF Fertilisers and Galloway and MacLeod Ltd, attracting 24 male, female and mixed rinks from all over Scotland.

The event was a great success producing two great finals. Coming out on top were low road winners; Willie Bryson, Willie Cannon, Alan Brown and skip George Strang (pictured). The high road was won by Drew and Fraser Thomson, Robbie Stevenson and skip Grant Barr. Both games provided the spectators with nail biting excitement, with team Strang triumphing over team Kerr and team Stevenson edging out team Clark.

Galloway and MacLeod managing director, Donald Harvey, commented that they were delighted to be involved in the Farmers Trophy along with CF Fertilisers: "It was great to see so many people enjoy the curling as well as the social aspect which highlighted the positive effect of having two agricultural companies supporting such a great competition."
