A SHOW stopping performance by Bell Baxter ADS saw them lift the much coveted ‘East Cabaret’ title at Perth Concert Hall last Saturday.

Fending off competition from five other teams across the east, their performance of ‘Fife Up Your Life’ was a hot favourite with the judges. Under the guidance of producers Alex Jack and David Scott, the YF team showcased in their act the princesses of Perth; Dundee; Kinross; Crieff and Bo’Ness – all kept in line by the ‘Trumpet Fife Tour Guide’.

Runners-up on the night with their performance of ‘Take Me For-Far Away’ went to Forfar JAC, produced by Ewan Campbell and Andrew Beattie. Prince ‘James Adam’ alongside Bruce Keilor playing ‘Beryl Ugly’ scooped the prize for Best Comedy Performance on the night!

Bathgate JAC produced their own terrific cabaret with a performance of ‘Stopped and Played, With Monopoly’ which earned them third place. With fourth placed Peeblesshire JAC producing the best individual performance out-with the winning team, from Rachel Campbell who sang with her guitar in their reminiscing of the Royal Highland Show.

This year’s Cabaret, sponsored once again by Scotmin Nutrition, was judged by three experts within both the YF field and producing and performing theatre; Miss Mhairi Lake, Mr Stuart Jamieson and Mr Simon Laidlaw.

Next on the calendar for the East Region is their Senior Speechmaking elimination [mixed panel format], to be held this Sunday February, 16, at Abertay University from 11.30am. The event is open to all supporters to attend.
