BUTE YOUNG Farmers took to their tractors in a display of support for the NHS, as part of last Thursday night’s nationwide appreciation.

Five tractors assembled on the streets of Rothesay and were joined by present and past members of Bute Junior Agricultural Club, giving their thanks to the team at their local Victoria Hospital.

BJAC social media convener Keriin McMillan-Jamieson, who captured the display on video, told The SF that the idea was originally suggested by former member Gordon Reynolds.

“It was great to see our members out showing their support in the best way they know, some even managed to give their tractors a quick wash before heading out for the 8pm drive-by,” she laughed. “One of our younger members Robin McAlister also went that little extra mile to spray NHS with a love heart and attached it onto his tractor.

“For being such a small club, we wanted to try show our support for all those amazing frontline workers including all of our amazing farmers who are still working to provide for the country,” she continued.

“Bute Junior Agricultural Club would like to say ‘Thank you, Stay Safe and continue to Stay Home/Alert,” she concluded.
