MORE than 20 cans of Dragon Soop and two bottles of Hooch were among a haul of booze found on teenagers in a popular summer hotspot.

Officers found the impressive collection on groups of youths at Balloch train station this morning as part of a clamp down on anti-social behaviour.

The town is popular with Glaswegians when the sun shines and with temperatures hitting more than 25 degress today revellers have flocked to beaches and parks outside of the city.

Posting on social media, officers from Argyll and West Dunbartonshire showed off their impressive haul of alcohol, with bottles of gin and wine also taken from underage drinkers.

In a statement, officers said: "As part of our #SummerSafety Campaign, our officers have been policing the general area of Balloch Train Station this morning.

"As much as we want the public to enjoy the sunshine, we will not tolerate anti-social behaviour or drinking in public and will respond accordingly to any disorder.

"This photo shows just one of many alcohol seizures from groups of underage young people earlier today.

"We will continue to patrol the area throughout the course of the day and have extra officers on foot and mobile patrol.

"Members of the public are encouraged to report any incidents to Police by calling 101 or 999 in an emergency.

"Anyone with information on those purchasing alcohol on behalf of young people or on premises selling to underage youths is encouraged to contact Police by calling 101 or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."

The warning from cops comes amid a booze ban in a popular Glasgow park following disturbances earlier this summer.

Kelvingrove Park would normally be full of revellers making the most of the good weather but a ban on alcohol is in place this weekend.

The park saw chaotic scenes during the lockdown, as drunken locals were escorted by cops for drinking and violating social distancing rules.

Officers and Glasgow City Council (GCC) staff have been positioned at the gates to Kelvingrove throughout the day, warning anyone arriving at the green spot with alcohol that they will be refused entry.
