COPS have issued a warning to people entering abandoned buildings in Glasgow. 

Officers are asking locals to avoid derelict sites as they are "often very unsafe, increasing the risk of injury or death". 

There are a number of abandoned buildings across Greater Glasgow, including the Talisman pub in Springburn and St. Margaret’s Church in Polmadie. 

A police spokesman said: "We are aware of reports of people entering abandoned sites in the Greater Glasgow area and would encourage people not to do this.

"Derelict sites are often very unsafe increasing the risk of injury or death.

"Many buildings are structural unsafe with other health hazards such as asbestos risk present.

"We are asking people to take personal responsibility, to do the right thing, ensuring visits to abandoned sites are avoided to help keep everyone, including emergency services, safe."
