MEMBERS OF SAYFC's political arm 'Agri Affairs', can look forward to a special online panel evening this January with a fantastic lineup of speakers.

Following the cancellation of the annual Agri and Rural Affairs Conference in November 2020 - the committee have organised a panel session for members to tune in to on January 13, at 8pm, exploring 'Covid-19 - an opportunity for Scottish agriculture.'

This session will give participants the opportunity to hear from a panel of experienced speakers from all areas of the sector who have strong links to the Scottish agriculture industry both at home and abroad. The lineup includes:- Jock Gibson of Edinvale Farm, Dallas and Manager of Macbeths Butchers, Forres; Caroline Millar, Owner of The Hideaway Experience, Auchterhouse, Dundee and founder of the Scottish Agritourism organisation, Go Rural and Anna Playfair-Hannay, Sustainable Agriculture and Welfare Manager for Woolworths, New South Wales, Australia - originally from The Scottish Borders.

The speakers have been invited to give their views on the past year and their hopes for the way forward during and post Covid-19. Agri Affairs chairman for 2020/21, Catherine Sloan, said: "2020 was a turbulent year for Scottish Agriculture and our webinar will explore whether there is an opportunity going forward to turn an apparent negative into a positive despite the current uncertainty."
