HOPES THAT this week's behind-closed-doors Royal Highland Showcase would catch the public's imagination seem to have been well-founded, as more than 10,000 people logged onto its live stream to watch it get under way this morning, and the total viewers for the day is already sitting at 25,000.
In normal times, up to 190,000 people would visit the agricultural show over the week to view the very best of Scottish livestock and rural skills, but this year, the industry will have to settle for notching up a huge online audience.
The live streaming is free every day this week til Sunday, with four separate feeds to choose from. as well as livestock competition, there will be show jumping, sheep sheering and forestry work, plus cheese, dairy and ice-cream competitions and chef demonstrations.
