Record priced ewe lamb at 5900gns from the Dawyck flock
A new record for a Bluefaced Leicester female sold in Ireland was achieved at 5900gns at an online July Blue Jewels Sale staged through Richard Beattie Livestock Sales.
The ewe lamb, from the Thornborrow family, Easter Dawyck, Peebles, is by the £30,000 M1 Hewgill, and sold to M Wood's Knockbarragh flock, Co Down, Northern Ireland. Dawyck also sold the second top lot at 5800gns. This gimmer, the same way bred as the ewe lamb, sold to Jamie Pirie, Blarnavaid
