Wreaywood heifers from Messrs Wilson, Woodside, Wreay, led the way at Harrison and Hetherington's Monthly Dairy event, securing the majority of top prices including the day's best at £2280.

Topping the sale, which boasted an entry of more than 220 head, when selling to Messrs Somerville, Carrutherstown, Dumfries, was Wreaywood Mopan Kate. This July 2019-born heifer giving 32kg per day, is by Mopan and bred from Coopon Cornell Kate.

The Wilsons also received £2200 for Wreaywood Lincoln Adele 6 from Messrs Henderson, Annan. This second calver is sired by Woodcatt Lincoln, out of Wreaywood Gratis Adele 4, and changed hands giving 54kg.

Matching that price was the second calver, Wreaywood Abro Bee 28, a Sandy-Valley Abro daughter, from the same home. She is out of Wreaywood Auburn Bee 10, giving 51kg and also sold to Messrs Henderson.

Wreaywood also sold three for £2100. First was Wreaywood Brody Charlene, purchased by Messrs Packham and Sons, Docker, Kendal. This two-year-old heifer is by DG Brody and giving 39kg.

The same buyers also forked out another £2100 for Wreaywood Luz Mandy 89, a similarly aged heifer by Luz Red PP Dandecavi, giving 31kg.

Last to hit £2100 was Wreaywood Mopan Joukje 2, a July 2019-born heifer by Mopan purchased by Messrs Somerville, Carrutherstown.

Top price for JM and SM Mounsey, Ashfield, Laversdale, Carlisle, was £2150 paid for the January 2019-born, Ashberry Gras Meg, by Mr Moviestar Mardi Gras, out of Ashberry Pello Meg 2. She sold giving 36kg per day to Messrs Fisher, Dundrennan, Kirkcudbright.

Another two lots sold for £2150 to include Nydie Glenco Lucinda from R and A Wilson, Clackmae, Earlston. The Boclair Glenco March 2019-born heifer, bred from Nydie Haddy Lucinda VG87, sold to Messrs Forrest and Son, Lockerbie.

Baltier Farming Company, Whithorn, Newton Stewart also forked out the same money for Sandcrest Debbie 38 VG86 from J and M Sanderson, Pasture Barn, Kirkham, Preston. This four-year-old heifer is by Toc-Farm Goldfish and out of Sandcrest Debbie 15 VG85.
