After a challenging three years from the pandemic and spells of dramatic wet weather, Tarbolton Show is set to go ahead this year.
Burns Trout Fishery at Tarbolton, is the place to be on Saturday, September 25 for all livestock enthusiasts.
“We are delighted to announce that we are aiming to have our show again, it has been a very long time for us, after the pandemic and in 2019 the wet weather caused us to have a very minimal show. So this will be the first time in three years we are full steam ahead with a full show, which everyone is really looking forward to.
“We just hope that everyone will support us and we get a nice day for it come the end of September,” said show secretary, Mary Hunter.
Competitions for all sections are open to Ayrshire only, with entries now open until show day, so make sure to get your entries in.
The Society’s Annual Cropping Competition took place in July with 14 farms in and around the parish of Tarbolton showing crops in this popular competition.
The competition was won by George Hunter, Langlands, Tarbolton, who is a previous winner of the competition. George also won the prize for the best grass.
Second prize was awarded to John Drummond and his sons from Townend, Craigie, with third going to Drew Wilson, Outmains, Tarbolton.
